THE BEGINNING
A WORD FROM OUR CHAIRMAN
A tennis club is a wonderful resource for any Community. It’s a place where people of all ages can assemble and play the sport they love. Men and women, girls and boys, can come down and enjoy many hours of recreation and exercise all year round. Tennis is played and loved in so many countries worldwide; it’s truly a global sport. Ireland is no different.
The founding members of our club recognised it was essential to develop suitable sporting facilities alongside the increasing population on the Donabate/Portrane peninsula. This is why we took the opportunity to form our tennis club on the grounds of Donabate Golf Club in 2016.

In four short years, we built six all-weather floodlight courts in a beautiful woodland setting with an adjoining rustic cabin for members. We also have full use of the Donabate Golf Club pavilion
In addition to this, we are delighted to have been recognised for our club development work by Tennis Ireland and awarded a Silver Award club mark. (see more below)
We warmly welcome new members as we look to the future and continue to further develop our club facilities and promote tennis play for all ages and standards. Our aim is for DPTC to be a welcoming, happy and exciting place for everybody who wants to play tennis.
It truly is a wonderful club, but don't take my word for it - scroll down to see what our members have to say.

SILVER ACCREDITATION
The Tennis Ireland Clubmark is a Programme designed to provide clubs with the resources to create a Club Development Strategy.
Accreditation is divided into three bands, Bronze, Silver & Gold so as to allow all clubs to achieve a quality standard in areas that are most pertinent and achievable to their club.
Although DPTC is a relatively young club, we were delighted to have been accredited with the SILVER AWARD. This was achieved by being measured against and passing 47 essential elements set by Tennis Ireland.
We are now aiming for the GOLD AWARD, together we can achieve this!
